Cotton Bolls, Quilts and a Little History!

The cotton boll is really something of beauty.  My 2 year old grandson went to the field in front of the house and picked some.  He loved looking at and feeling it.  Really who doesn't love feeling it?  Do you live in an area where cotton grows?  If not I hope one day you get to see some growing in the fields.  At just the right time it's as if the fields are full of scattered fluffy snow.  Today we are talking cotton, the cotton boll itself in patterns, cotton fabric, a little quilting history among other things.....

I hope you're all having a peaceful Sunday.  I am looking at some strange photos that Julian Lennon on Facebook.  I'd click the link for some very interesting photographs from the past.

I can't imagine sewing with the family riding a huge bike!  I have to hand it to them it is ingenious!

I've been going through some of the patterns that I have at this house.  Logging in for number and size.  I didn't realize that I had so many vintage apron patterns.  This is going to be fun.

There are a lot of crafts rolling around in my head to do but as of late aprons have been my stable.  Who knew that I'd become so much of an apron maker?  I didn't.

Have a great day and I'll be back with more items soon.
